Maata

Help & support

Maata works without an account and keeps everything on your device, so most answers are a tap away in the app.

Recording a voice

Open Voices, pick who is recording (or tap Add), and tap the microphone next to any word. Recording stops by itself when you finish speaking. Tap Redo to try again. Recording is always free.

Family far away

Grandparents and relatives can install Maata free on their own phone, add a learner (any name), record in Voices, then tap Send … ’s voice to family and send the file by WhatsApp or Messages. On your phone, tap the file and choose Maata — they join Voices and the kids hear them in lessons.

Words that aren’t how your family says them

Tap the word in Voices to fix how it’s written, then record it your way. Only Telugu has been checked by a native-speaking parent so far; for every other language we welcome corrections.

Restoring the Family unlock

On a new device, or for someone in your Family Sharing group, open Me → Family unlock → Restore purchase (or the Restore button on the unlock screen). Apple handles refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com.

Moving to a new phone

In Me → Back up your family’s voices, save a backup to iCloud Drive or AirDrop it to the new device, then use Restore from a backup there.

Contact

Questions, corrections for a language, or a teacher who would like to use Maata with a class: [email protected]. We read every message.

Getting Maata
